My sweet little child,

Listen to my advice.

The words that you hear,

From others sound nice.

You will like what they say,

They will tickle your ears.

So you’ll search for even more,

Of these nice words to hear.

You may start to live your life,

Seeking more of these.

Until they define your life,

Always more is what you’ll need.

You will also find some words,

That are not so very kind.

These are the ones,

That will stick inside your mind.

The more of these you get,

The more you’ll need hear,

The nice words others say,

But there’s not enough I fear.

So spare yourself the work,

Of unlistening to words.

Instead I hope you learn,

Only one holds any worth.

The Word that you must heed,

Is the only one you’ll need.

So spend your time instead,

Letting His words set you free.
