lost in a crowd
Lost in a crowd,
Of faces, of skin.
Lost in a crowd,
One in a million.
The crowd is dead,
You can’t see me past,
The bodies that lie,
Piled in a mass.
No finding me under,
Embodied deceit.
Blocking your view,
I’m not what you seek.
Trampled and crushed,
Hidden by the crowd.
A grave full of bodies,
Too many to count.
Gasping for air,
No oxygen left.
Crushed by the weight,
I can’t catch my breath.
You don’t hear my cries,
Muffled underneath.
The bodies that lie,
Fatal smothering.
