reality’s gaze

Relentless the thoughts,

From reality’s gaze.

As it looks back to rewrite,

My nights and my days.

Cutting and splicing,

So fragile, the past.

Memories lie broken,

In fragments of glass.

Laughter and smiles,

Late nights and sleep.

Reality comes in,

To steal, lie and cheat.

Who knew that my eyes,

Were betraying my mind?

Clueless my heart,

Now I know I was blind.

Vision in hindsight,

It now becomes clearer.

Enlightening that darkens,

The rearview mirror.

Decades of turning,

Old memories new.

Endless images,

A hell of a view.
